• Learn to use some online tools that might come in handy in this class and others:
  • Zotero - A bibliography manager that works in the Firefox browser.
  • Google Docs - an online word processor that allows simultaneous editing.
  • Wikispaces - a wiki that allows authors to create media rich wiki pages.
  • Engrade - an online gradebook that you can use to monitor your progress in this class.
• Relate Kozol's Savage Inequalities to how we might investigate local schools.

Instructional Activities

• Demonstration: Using Zotero with the URI Library Databases
• Small group discussion: Savage Inequalities
• Report out from our groups.
• Preview: Visit last year's context reports in preparation for deciding on a school that you will describe.
